Whenever individuals live together, discipline is necessary, and this is especially true of an educational institution. This discipline is formative, not repressive. It leads the students to develop self control, which is the essence of a well-ordered and successful life. Therefore, Mater Dei requires of her students, conformity to certain regulations, aimed at the growth of the entire school and more so, of the individual students.

  • The Management, acting through the Principal reserves the right to dismiss any pupil, whose behaviour is deemed unsatisfactory. In such cases, the Principal is NOT bound to give any reason.
  • Irregular attendance, habitual idleness, neglect of homework, use of foul language, bullying, disobedience and disrespect towards the members of the School Staff or bad moral influence, justify dismissal.
  • If a student is present in school but found missing from class, she will be dealt with severely and may even face suspension.
  • Students are strictly forbidden to carry electronic gadgets like cellular phones, I pods, cameras etc. and also objectionable literature to school. The gadgets confiscated, will not be returned. Violation of this rule will lead to suspension of the student.
  • Attendance on the first and last working day before and after a long holiday is compulsory. Those absent without prior permission, will be fined Rs. 50/- per day.
  • Those who absent themselves without permission, for a month, are liable to have their names struck off the rolls.
  • It is necessary that all students should attend school in clean and full uniform. Those who are not in their complete uniform will not be given permission to attend the class. It is mandatory to wear the school Identity Card every day.
  • School uniform forbids the use of jewellery, henna / mehendi / streaking of hair / make up / tattoos / long nails with / without nail polish and double earrings. Hair below shoulder length must be plaited.
  • Students may not leave the school premises during school hours without the prior permission of the Principal. If found outside the school premises during school hours, without permission, she is liable to be dismissed. The school shall assume responsibility for the students safety only after they have entered the school premises.
  • Any student seen outside the School premises after school hours, donning the School uniform, at any public place or gathering, is liable to be penalised.
  • Students are expected to show respect to the members of the Staff. They should stand up and greet them when they enter class as well as when they leave the classroom.
  • Students are expected to show gentleness and courtesy to their companions. Refinement should distinguish every pupil of the School.
  • Any damage to the school property, including ink stains, must be remedied at the cost of the offender.
  • The school cannot take responsibility for lost articles, money, etc.
  • All students are expected to be in school by 07.30 a.m. on all working days. The School gates will be closed by 07.35 a.m. Any late coming will be recorded and accordingly penalised. Three violations will result in parents being asked to take their ward back home.
  • Students who come late for school and those who have been absent on the previous day must bring a letter of explanation from the parents to be tendered to the class teacher after the signature by the Principal or Headmistress.
  • All applications for certificates must be made in writing. These will only be issued 3 days after receipt of the applications.
  • Students WILL BE NOT ALLOWED to make phone calls or receive visitors in the school.
  • Students should not be sent to school if suffering from a contagious or infectious disease. If students are indisposed, parents are advised to keep them at home even during tests and assignments.
  • All students must bring their text books and stationery to school for their respective classes. Books must be covered with brown paper and bear the student's name and standard on the outer and inner pages. Students are expected to take good care of their books and personal belongings.
  • Students are forbidden to collect money for any purpose without the express permission of the Principal.
  • Misuse of the school logo on shirts, sweatshirts, jackets etc. is strictly forbidden and liable to lead to strict action.
  • Students may not offer present to their teachers, unless sanctioned by the Principal.
  • Students are not permitted to celebrate birthdays, both, their own and that of their friends by bringing bouquets, etc. to School. All celebrations may be restricted to after school hours and outside School.
  • Students may not receive private tuition from School teachers without the permission of the Principal.
  • Parents are informed that occasional remarks from the teachers are sent through the pages of the school Diary, which need to be checked and acknowledged by signing against the remarks. Parents may also communicate with the teachers through the school diary.
  • Parents or guardians are particularly requested to sign the Progress Report when required to do so.
  • Parents are also requested to inform the Principal of any change of address or telephone number within 3 days.
  • As the medium of instruction is English, students must also speak in English while in the school campus.
